Vero CAN Hub

Vero CAN Hub

The Vero Electric CAN Hub simplifies CANbus wiring and termination for up to 4 CAN devices on a single network.

Features

  • Connection to up to 4 CAN devices on a shared CAN network
  • Standard M6 mounting holes
  • Additional 12V and GND connections on each terminal block to power compatible devices
  • 60 Ohm, 120 Ohm, or open circuit (jumper removed) termination resistance options
  • Screw terminal blocks for easy expansion and installation

Termination Resistance

CANbus as a standard requires a resistance of 60 Ohm between CAN High and CAN Low. This is typically achieved with two 120 Ohm resistors placed in parallel, one on each physical end of the bus wiring. However, when the CAN wiring harness is short in length and CAN baud rates are low (typically 500kbps or less), single-ended termination resistance can often be used successfully. The CAN Hub termination resistance jumper has the option to use single-ended 60 Ohm termination.

DO NOT use single-ended termination in applications where CAN communication is mission-critical and a breakdown in CAN communication could result in unsafe operation.
